Abstrak
Kajian sastra lisan atau folklore ini mendiskusikan local wisdom yang terkandung dalam legenda Tanjung Ular yang berasal dari Kabupaten Bangka Barat, Bangka Belitung. Cerita rakyat memiliki unsur universal dalam perspektif strukturalisme Dundes, meliputi struktur naratif, motif, dan fungsi cerita rakyat. Legenda Tanjung Ular memiliki struktur naratif yang di awali sejarah dua kerajaan dan diakhiri kisah matinya seorang nelayan. Adapun motif yang terdapat di dalamnya meliputi enam motif sebagaimana teori Dundes, serta legenda tersebut memiliki fungsi sosial-budaya, ekonomi, pendidikan, dan hiburan.

Abstract:
Study of oral literature or folklore discusses local wisdom contained in the legend of snake that comes from the Cape West Bangka regency, the Pacific Islands. Folklore has a universal element in the perspective of structuralism Dundes, including narrative structure, motifs, and function of folklore. Snake Legend of the Cape has a narrative structure that at the start and end of history the story of two royal death of a fisherman. The motif contained there in includes six motifs as Dundes's theory, as well as the legend has a function of socio-cultural, economic, educational, and entertainment.
