EFFORTS TO INCREASE STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES IN MATHEMATICS THROUGH COOPERATIVE LEARNING MODEL TYPES OF STUDENT TEAMS ACHIEVEMENT DIVISIONS (STAD) IN MATERIALS COUNTING SURFACE AND VOLUME OF CUBES, BEAMS, PRISM AND LIMAS

Abstrak
In learning mathematics at Sukaraja 1 Public Middle School, it appears that learning planning has been well-organized and arranged before the teacher carries out learning activities. The method used by the teacher is in accordance with the material of the teaching material, the learning media has been prepared, the management of the class has been arranged varies, but the learning outcomes of 45% of students are still below the minimum completeness standard. The researchers' initial conclusions about this situation were that the learning models and strategies used by the teacher were not in accordance with the needs of the child. The purpose of this study was to find out the implementation of Mathematics learning through cooperative STAD Type on students of class VIII G Sukaraja State Middle School 1 semester 2016/2017. The results of this study indicate that the cooperative learning model is suitable for use in answering existing problems in calculating the surface area and volume of cubes, beams, pyramid and prisms, and able to create an active atmosphere in PBM, seen from students' mastery of learning material has now increased and students are able to find the answers themselves even though they are still under the guidance of the teacher. Dalam pembelajaran matematika di SMP Negeri 1 Sukaraja, terlihat perencanaan pembelajaran telah disusun dengan baik dan disusun sebelum guru melaksanakan kegiatan pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan guru sudah sesuai dengan materi bahan ajar, media pembelajaran sudah disiapkan, pengelolaan kelas sudah diatur bervariasi, namun hasil belajar 45 % siswa masih dibawah standar ketuntasan minimal. Kesimpulan awal peneliti tentang keadaan ini adalah bahwa model dan strategi belajar yang digunakan oleh guru belum sesuai dengan kebutuhan anak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan pembelajaran Matematika melalui kooperatif Tipe STAD pada siswa kelas VIII G SMP Negeri 1 Sukaraja semester genap Tahun Pelajaran 2016/2017. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif cocok untuk digunakan dalam menjawab permasalahan yang ada pada materi menghitung luas permukaan dan volum kubus, balok, limas dan prisma, serta mampu menciptakan suasana aktif dalam PBM, terlihat dari penguasaan siswa terhadap materi pembelajaran kini telah meningkat dan siswa mampu menemukan sendiri jawaban yang dibutuhkan meski tetap berada dalam bimbingan guru
