MENINGKATKAN KUALITI GURU PELATIH MELALUI KECERDASAN SPIRITUAL: AMALAN TERBAIK DI INSTITUT PENDIDIKAN GURU

Abstrak
Abstract: Enhancing teacher trainees’ quality through spiritual intelligence: Best practice in the Teacher Training Institute. The aim of this study is to identify the relationship and contribution of spiritual intelligence on teacher trainees’ quality. Data collected based on survey using questionnaire. Samples of this study consist of 400 teacher trainees whom have been selected through random sampling form 6 teacher training institute located in the middle zone, Malaysia. Instruments used are Spiritual Intelligence Inventory and Teacher Quality Inventory. Findings of the study revealed that there is a strong and significant relationship between spiritual intelligence and teacher trainees’ quality (r=.641, p<.01). Spiritual intelligence contributed (41.1%) to teacher trainees’ quality. There is a significant different of teacher trainees’ spiritual intelligence based on the courses offered by the Teacher Training Institute. The implication of this study is that spiritual intelligence should be embedded in the teacher training curriculum as it can enhance the teacher trainees’ quality.

Abstrak: Meningkatkan Kualiti Guru Pelatih melalui Kecerdasan Spiritual: Amalan Terbaik Di Institut Pendidikan Guru. Tujuan kajian ini adalah untuk mengenal pasti hubungan dan sumbangan kecerdasan spiritual ke atas kualiti guru pelatih. Data diperoleh berdasarkan kaedah tinjauan rentasan menggunakan soal selidik Responden kajian terdiri daripada 400 orang guru pelatih yang dipilih secara rawak daripada 6 buah Institut Pendidikan Guru (IPG) zon tengah di Malaysia. Alat ukur yang digunapakai ialah Inventori Kecerdasan Spiritual dan Inventori Kualiti Guru. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa terdapat hubungan yang kuat dan signifikan antara kecerdasan spiritual dengan kualiti guru pelatih (r=.641, p<.01). Kecerdasan spiritual menyumbang (41.1%) kepada kualiti guru pelatih. Kecerdasan spiritual guru pelatih didapati berbeza secara signifikan mengikut bidang pengajian di Institut Pendidikan Guru. Kajian ini memberi implikasi bahawa unsur-unsur kecerdasan spiritual seharusnya diserapkan dalam kurikulum latihan perguruan kerana ia berpontensi tinggi untuk meningkatkan tahap kualiti guru pelatih.
