Abstrak
This research based on the worried of researchers from the existence of a fact that in 1978 Vietnam invaded Cambodia. Considering that, Vietnam emerged from the thirty years of war, and being hope peace and security in their own country. The research method used is the historical method with some questions ; (1) What is the background of Vietnam occupied Cambodia? (2) What are the interests of the Soviet Union in the occupation of Vietnam in Cambodia? (3) What is the role of the PRC in the face of the occupation of Vietnam in Cambodia? (4) How does the impact of the occupation of Vietnam to Cambodia?
The invasion and occupation of Vietnam to Cambodia caused by the long conflict that occurred between the two countries. Conflict then develop into assault Vietnam to Phnom Penh, followed by the establishment of a new government in Cambodia under Vietnamese influence. The involvement of the Soviet Union and the PRC in the invasion and occupation of Vietnam to Cambodia caused by the conflict of interest between the Soviet Union and the PRC in Southeast Asia. Ideological differences communist Soviet Union and the PRC made the two big countries are competing in exert influence to Vietnam and Cambodia. Economic and military assistance given the Soviet Union to Vietnam in an attempt to invade and occupy Cambodia. Meanwhile, in the face of Vietnamese-backed invasion of the Soviet Union, the PRC Endeavor provides assistance both economically and militarily to the parties in Cambodia which is anti to Vietnam and the Soviet Union. As a result of the invasion and occupation of Vietnam to Cambodia, general conditions in Cambodia became erratic, caused by the scarcity of infrastructure and economic consequences of the war between Vietnam and Cambodia before.
