Background of this research came from an interesting point of immaterial inheritance which left by Dutch colonialism era in religion aspect. The appearance of Gereja Katolik Bebas (GKB, in English it is called as Liberal Catholic Church) in Netherland-Indie, generally, was because of Christianity weakness condition and the humanism which became a zeitgeist. GKB, which had relationship with theosophy, could be revealed as a liberal religion, with secular humanism characteristic, and carried on God universality. GKB was taken by its priests who wanted to serve their adherents in Netherland-Indie, because their adherents were included as theosophists who had several important positions in Netherland-Indie. So, the main purpose of the priests’ arrival was not for evangelization. The main teachings of GKB included New Age Movement, pantheism and God universality, free thought, reincarnation, and Christ’s role as a mahaguru of life. Furthermore, the spreading of GKB could be said not very good because only happened between several groups.
