PENGEMBANGAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KONSEP IPA SD BERBASIS KEGIATAN LABORATORIUM MENGGUNAKAN PENDEKATAN SAVIRisda Amini

The elementary science concepts is one of the subjects in the Primary Teacher Education, Padang State University (PGSD UNP). Preliminary surveys indicate that students who take the classes PGSD less mastered the elementary science concepts. The model of teaching is centered on the lecturer. The experiment activities carried out separately by theory. The research aims to develop the instructional model of elementary science concepts to PGSD students. Instructional model develop by combining theoretical class and experiment activities in the laboratory. This research used research and development which refers to the model of Borg and Gall (1983) with the following steps: (1) preliminary study, (2) planning, (3) development, (4) implementation. The subjects of research were instructional of elementary science concepts. The respondents were students in PGSD UNP who take the classes of elementary science concepts. Data was collected using observation sheet, interview activities, tests of elementary science concepts, and assessment of instructional process. This research result was the instructional model-based lab activities with SAVI approach (PBKL SAVI). The PBKL SAVI models include three components, namely: planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning. In order to support the implementation of learning, developed lesson plan, lab manual, handouts, instructional media such as PowerPoint and Macromedia Flash. The research result showed that the PBKL SAVI models, effectively to improve student learning outcomes. It is based on the mastery of elementary science concepts, the ability of experiment activities, communicated and presented the experiment results which included good categories. The PBKL SAVI models give a concrete example and based student’s centered. The advices gived to lectures in order to use the PBKL SAVI model in lecturing elementary science concept.
