Abstrak This study discusses the effectiveness of the use of multimedia among pre-school teachers in the teaching and learning of Malay language reading skills. The use of multimedia skills is chosen because multimedia elements itself provides the audio visual environment for the student. The use of multimedia elements in the process of teaching and learning reading skills can provide an opportunity to students to be more actively involved verbally and physically because of the nature of the media that touches the senses of students. Stimulation and motivation to students is important to maintain students focus on teaching and learning in the classroom. The use of technology has been proven to improve productivity, increase motivation, support teaching approaches, and improve teaching abilities and unique skills which are required in the information age (Roblyer, 2003). Research methods used in this study is a combination of research methods literature and field studies. The instruments used include interviews, observations and documents analysis.
