Abstrak This research is motivated by the lack of process and results of students' reading comprehension skills, it is characterized by the many students who still below a predetermined (KKM). Conventional learning to be one of the causes of low reading comprehension skills so that learning becomes boring. In connection with the above problems, through research is expected to improve students' reading comprehension skills using reciprocal teaching learning model. The general objective of this study is to describe the application of reciprocal teaching models to improve reading comprehension skills of students learning Indonesian in class V at one primary school in the Bandung and purpose in particular to determine the learning process and the results of reading comprehension skills. The method used is a Classroom Action Research, McKernan design with a modification of Hopkins. The results using the model of reciprocal teaching can improve students' reading comprehension skills. Evident from the average value of reading comprehension first cycle of 69.5 and 53% KKM achievement. The average value of reading comprehension second cycle of 87.51 and achieving 88% KKM. The above results it can be concluded that the application of a model reciprocal teaching can improve students' reading comprehension skills in learning Indonesian. Based on the above results there are also some recommendations to be conveyed, among others, teachers who want to implement this model in other learning taking into account the characteristics of the students. And for further research more emphasis on the process of informing the students.
