Sukarjo (SDN 3 Jagabaya Panawangan District of Ciamis Regency) **Abstrak**

Learning Indonesian mainly on writing essay description fifth grade students of SDN 3 Constable Panawangan District of Ciamis regency with teaching materials around the school environment gives students the chance to be active, creative, and critical. In general, the results correspond significantly to meet the needs of teachers and students where learning standard procedure. The ability of students to write essays using a description of the object directly in cycle 1, cycle 2 and cycle 3 seemed there was an increase of 52.08% Good-value in cycle 1 to 65.62% in cycle 2 and became 3.12% is well worth it once and 71, 78% worth both in cycle 3. the ability of students to write essays using a description of the object immediately apparent there was an increase, although not optimal. Improving the ability of students to write essays using a description of the direct object can be seen from the change in the average value of each of the aspects of essay writing to a better direction.
