Abstrak
Harun Nasution is an Islam rationalist reformer. Harun is influenced by some reformers, especially from Muhammad Abduh with his Mu’tazilah concept. Harun thought that Islam is actually a rational religion, where intelligence gets the high position, but not over the revelation. The efforts Harun did to implement his thought is through education. However, the influence of this Harun Nasution’s thought has pro and contra. The support comes from high class people and the negative responses come from middle class people, especially those who still believe in traditional doctrine, so the influence of Harun’s thought is restricted only to them, the intellect people and society who get modern education.
