Abstrak
This paper provides a brief overview of some of the characteristics of Islamic education. These characteristics into a statement that distinguishes Islamic education with other educational concepts. The most prominent of these characteristics is that Islamic education rooted in the teachings of Islam (the Qur'an and the Sunnah), the interpretation of both, as well as the aspect of humanity. Islamic teachings directed to the good of human beings according to the concepts established by God. True education leads people to actualize the goodness of God to mankind himself.
