Abstrak This research has aroused from the backgrounds that reflected from the fact that the evaluation developed in the school settings has not only stuck on the traditional tests that merely demand true or false answers, but also the assignments given by the teachers do not reinforce students’ thinking abilities and skills. The research method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research procedure done refers to Kemmis and Mc.Taggart model, through experiencing the main stages of the model: planning, action, observation and reflection. The problem limitation of this research is “How is the Application of Performance Assessment Applied to Develop Students’ Analysis Skills on History Learning in Class XI IPS (Social Science Studies) 2 of MAN (Islamic Senior High School) 1 in Bandung City?” The research results have shown that the application of performance assessment enables to develop students’ analysis skills on history learning in class XI IPS 2 MAN 1 Bandung. The development of learning has been apparent in every stage of learning action cycles especially felt the most significant in the third cycle. The development could be significantly considered during discussion activity and group performance, through applying rubric as the evaluation measurement that has conformed to all the indicators of analysis skills.
