Abstrak
The German battle with the Soviet Union on the territory of Ukraine is one battle that happened in World War (WW) II in the Eastern European region. The main issues to be studied in this article is what German interest with the Soviet Union in Ukraine until force them to war. The method used is the historical method with only four steps of research, there are heuristics, criticism of sources, interpretation and historiography. The thecnique used is study of literature with an interdisciplinary approach by using theories political science and sociology. The theory of political science whichis used is the theory of war, geopolitical and battle. While the theories of sociology using conflict theory. Based on the results of the study can be found on several findings including Gemany and the Soviet Union in needed of additional areas to explore for its resources, Ukraine as a sustaining zone for the Soviet Union became the first area that must be mastered by Germany, while the Soviet Union Ukraine should be maintained territory because it serves as a sustaining zones of the Soviet Union. the results of this study can be used as teaching material development in highschool history class XI.
