TANTANGAN GLOBALISASI TERHADAP PEMBINAAN WAWASAN KEBANGSAAN DAN CINTA TANAH AIR DI SEKOLAH

Abstrak
Abstract: The objective of this research is to describe some issues occurred in schools in regards of the fast developing process of globalization towards students which is contributed by mass media; television, how does this influence the students’ habitual in their daily life and in filling their spare times, it also describe of how the Pendidikan Kewarganegaranan (Civic Education) program is being implemented to solve these issues. This research was conducted in two different places in Indonesian homeland; West Java (Jawa Barat) and Batam which has been assumed that these places are already influenced by globalization. The respondents of this research were the students and teachers of SMP, SMA and SMK. The result of this study shows that globalization challenges the power of assembling self concept and giving publicity of values through television agents. In order to solve that problems the Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan (civic education) must be delivered refer to the Citizenship Education concept.

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah hendak mengungkapkan sejumlah persoalan yang muncul di sekolah-sekolah seiring derasnya arus globalisasi menerpa para siswa melalui media massa televisi, bagaimana pengaruhnya terhadap kebiasaan mereka sehari-hari baik dalam belajar maupun mengisi waktu senggang, serta bagaimana program Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan diselenggarakan untuk menanggulangi persoalan-persoalan tersebut. Penelitian dilakukan di dua wilayah di tanah air (Jawa Barat dan Batam) yang diasumsikan sangat deras terkena pengaruh globalisasi. Responden adalah siswa dan guru SMP, SMA, dan SMK. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa globalisasi menantang kekuatan penerapan unsur jati diri dan memporakporandakan nilai-nilai adiluhung bangsa melalui agennya televisi. Untuk menanggulangi persoalan demikian program pendidikan kewarganegaraan harus diselenggarakan dengan mengacu pada konsep Citizenship Education.
