Abstrak
Permasalahan yang saat ini dihadapi oleh guru di SMP Negeri 1 Padakembang adalah penguasaan siswa terhadap materi statistika, terutama dalam mengingat konsep dalam waktu yang terbatas yang telah diajarkan. Walaupun pada akhir pemberian materi telah menunjukkan ketuntasan belajar, namun bila ditinjau dari pencapaian tujuan pembelajaran, hal tersebut jauh dari yang sebenarnya diharapkan. Hal ini terbukti dari hasil belajar matematika pada materi statistika sebelumnya hanya mencapai 55, sedangkan “KKM untuk mata pelejaran matematika sebesar 75”. Hal ini dibuktikan dari jumlah siswa 30 orang, hanya 29% yang telah mencapai KKM, sedangkan 71% masih di bawah KKM yang ditetapkan. Tujuan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan siswa menyelesaikan operasi pecahan dalam bentuk aljabar dengan menggunakan metode latihan di Kelas VII-A. Berdasarkan pembahasan hasil penelitian bahwa: Kemampuan guru dalam membuat rencana pembelajaran tentang kemampuan siswa menyelesaikan operasi pecahan dalam bentuk aljabar di Kelas VII-F, diperoleh hasil sebagai berikut: Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran siklus pertama dengan rata-rata 3,08 dengan kategori baik, rencana pembelajaran siklus II rata-rata 3,45 dengan kategori baik. Proses pelaksanaan pembelajaran tentang kemampuan siswa menyelesaikan operasi pecahan dalam bentuk aljabar di Kelas VII-F SMP rata-rata kemampuan guru pada siklus pertama dengan rata-rata 3,3 dengan kategori baik, siklus kedua dengan rata-rata 3,6 dengan kategori baik. Hasil belajar siswa setelah menggunakan metode latihan dalam pembelajaran matematika, memperoleh nilai pada siklus pertama nilai rata-rata sebesar 59,35 atau 59,35% dengan kategori kurang, siklus II sebesar 76,77 atau 76,77% dengan kategori baik.
