Abstrak
Abstract: The Enhancement of Student’s Mathematical Comprehension Ability (MCA) and Mathematical Problem Solving Ability (MPSA) through Problem Based Learning in Elementary School. The aim of the present study was to find out the enhancement of elementary school student’s comprehension ability and mathematical problem solving ability through Problem Based Learning (PBL). This study used experiment quasi method by pretest posttest control design. Subject of study were students in one of public elementary school in Bandung City with total 60 students. Result of study showed that there is difference in enhancement of mathematical comprehension ability (MCA) and mathematical problem solving ability (MPSA) between students who get learning by PBL model and students who get learning by Direct Instruction (DI); MCA and MPSA of high and low group students who learn by PBL model is better compared to students who learn by DI model.

Abstrak: Peningkatan Kemampuan Pemahaman dan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis Siswa melalui Problem Based Learning di Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman dan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa sekolah dasar melalui model Problem Based Learning (PBL). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain kontrol pretes postes. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa di sebuah sekolah dasar negeri di Kota Bandung, sebanyak 60 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman matematis (KPM) dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis (KPMM) antara siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model PBL dan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model Direct Instruction (DI); KPM dan KPMM kelompok rendah dan kelompok tinggi yang belajar dengan model PBL lebih baik dibanding siswa yang belajar dengan model DI
