AMALAN KEPEMIMPINAN PENGAJARAN PENOLONG KANAN KURIKULUM, IKLIM SEKOLAH, SIKAP KERJA GURU DAN KOMITMEN ORGANISASI DI SEKOLAH MENENGAH KEBANGSAAN

Abstrak
Abstract: The Leadership Performance from Curriculum Asisstance Principal, School Climate, Teacher’s Attitude and Organizational Commitment in Public High Schools. The present study investigates the relationships between Assistant Principal (AP) school climate, teacher’s attitude and organizational commitment. Subjects comprise 400 forms four and five teachers from two northern states in Malaysia. This study also seeks to verify a hypothesized structural equation model of the association high, moderate and low achieving schools. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. Four instruments were used for data collection namely: the Principal Instruction Management Rating Scale (1985), Organizational Health Inventory (OHI-M, 1997), Job Involvement (JIQ, 1982) and Organizational Commitment (OCQ, 2007). Data analysis through SPSS and AMOS versions 16 were used to test the correlations among the variables and to assess the proposed model. The reliability and validity of the instruments utilized in the study were assessed through the reliability and confirmatory factor analysis. Results show that there exist significant correlations between instructional leadership, school climate, teachers’ work attitude and organizational commitment. Results from the structural equation model suggest that practices through school climate instillation teacher’s attitude and organizational commitment. The findings also show that middle leaders i.e. ST and AP have successfully and efficiently impacted their duties. Besides, they have also managed to instill positive school climate through shared academic leadership. With the results in mind, implications and suggestions for further research and practice were also presented.

Abstrak: Amalan Kepemimpinan Pengajaran Penolong Kanan Kurikulum, Iklim Sekolah, Sikap Kerja Guru dan Komitmen Organisasi di Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan amalan kepemimpinan penolong kanan Kurikulum dengan iklim sekolah, sikap kerja guru dan komitmen organisasi. Di samping itu kajian ini cuba untuk meninjau keberkesanan iklim sekolah mempengaruhi sikap kerja guru dan komitmen organisasi di sekolah menengah berpencapaian tinggi, sederhana dan rendah. Seramai 400 orang guru sekolah menengah dari dua buah negeri utara Semenanjung Malaysia terlibat dalam kajian ini. Persampelan bermatlamat telah digunakan bagi menentukan pemilihan responden dan sekolah berdasarkan pencapaian peperiksaan Sijli Pelajaran Malaysia dan Standard Kualiti Pendidikan Malaysia (SKPM). Empat instrumen telah digunakan untuk mengumpul data kajian ini iaitu Instruction Management Rating Scale (PIMRS, 1985), Organizationa Health Inventory (OHI-M, 1997) Job Involvement (JIQ, 1982) dan Organizational Commitment (OCQ, 2007). Data dianalisis menggunakan perisian SPSS versi 16 dan AMOS versi 16.0 bagi menguji korelasi antara pemboleh-pemboleh ubah dan kesepadanan model. Analisis faktor (confirmatori factor analysis, CFA) dan Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) turut dijalankan dalam kajian ini. Dapatan kajian juga menunjukkan iklim sekolah mempunyai hubungan yang signifikan dengan sikap kerja guru dan komitmen organisasi. Selain itu, hubungan secara t dengan sikap kerja guru dan komitmen organisasi. Model persamaan berstruktur (SEM) telah menunjukkan adalah signifikan terhadap iklim sekolah, sikap kerja guru dan komitmen organisasi. Dapatan kajian ini jelaslah menunjukkan bahawa iklim sekolah yang positif di samping membina sikap kerja dan komitmen guru terhadap organisasi. Hasil penemuan kajian meningkatkan perkembangan profesionalisme dan nilai keberhasilan guru serta pencapaian sekolah. Sehubungan dengan keputusan yang diperolehi, beberapa implikasi dan cadangan telah dikemukakan.
