PENERAPAN METODE LEARNING STARTS WITH A QUESTION DALAM PEMBELAJARAN SEJARAH UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MENGEMUKAKAN PENDAPAT SISWA Ana Suprihatna

The background of this research is the low of expression ability of students in teaching history in class XI IPS 1 SMA Negeri 1 Tanjungsiang. This is due to the activity of students during the learning process historical low, due to the lack of interesting history lesson, teachers lack of creativity in developing the learning process in the classroom, teachers rarely use teaching methods that can attract students learning, and teachers have not developed the ability to express opinions of students in the teaching of history. This led the researchers felt the need to improve conditions for learning in class XI IPS 1 through the application of learning methods starts with a question of teaching history in an effort to improve students' ability to express opinions. The method used in this study is the method of Classroom Action Research (CAR). CAR through issues of education and learning can be assessed, improved and completed. The procedures performed in this study refers to the model of Kemmis and Mc.Taggart, which started with planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were obtained through an open observation, interviews, documentation, reports questioning students, and student journals impression. The study consisted of four cycles and four acts. Problem formulation used in this study is how history teachers plan learning development method starts with a question in the teaching of history in class XI IPS 1 to enhance the students ability to express an opinion?; how are teachers of history to implement learning method starts with a question of teaching history in the class XI IPS 1 to enhance the students ability to express opinions; what constraints faced by teachers of history in developing learning method starts with a question in class XI IPS 1 to enhance the students ability to express their opinions, and how do teachers and students towards learning method starts with a question in the teaching of history in class XI IPS 1 to enhance students ability to express an opinion?. The results obtained indicate that the authors of learning history by applying the learning method starts with a question, can improve students ability to express opinions. The application of learning methods can create fun learning, dynamic, and focused, with students actively involved through questions and answers in solving the problems. This is evident from the research results obtained, showed a significant increase in each cycle, whether of the observation sheets during the learning process, active students who indicated to have had a good ability to express opinions and responses of students who show interest in general and enjoys teaching history through the use of such methods. Results from this study is not a perfect study, so the need for further research on the application of learning methods starts with a question of teaching history in a different class in order to get a more perfect results.
