DIVERSITY AND NUMBER OF TOTAL BACTERIA AT SPRING AROUND VOLCANIC ROCKS BETWEEN KARANG MOUNTAIN AND PARAKASAK MOUNTAIN IN CIOMAS SERANG BANTEN

Abstrak
The research concerning diversity and number of total bacteria at spring around volcanic rocks between Karang Mountain and Parakasak Mountain in Ciomas Serang, Banten was done. The research method was carried out with the descriptive method. Sample tests were conducted using techniques Pour Plate, the total number of bacteria calculations using the TPC (Total Plate Count) method. From 14 samples of water were found totalling 19 species of the bacteria, that were Alcaligenes sp., Bacillus sp., Citrobacter sp., Edwardsiella sp., Enterobacter sp., Erwinia sp., Escherichia sp., Hafnia sp., Klebsiella sp., Lactobacillus sp., Listeria sp., Micrococcus sp., Paracoccus sp., Proteus sp., Pseudomonas sp., Shigella sp., Sporolactobacillus sp., Sporosarcina sp., Staphylococcus sp. The highest total number of bacteria was in Cikaret spring with total 1,1 x 107 bacteria/ml that had litology lava-andesite moldy. Whereas the total number bacteria was least found in Cibarugbug spring with total 4 x 103 bakteri/ml that had litology lava-andesite. The highest mean of total number that had litology breksi. The total number of bacteria in breksi was the higher than lava and tuf. Frequency of bacterial present at spring that dominant was genus Escherichia. The composition of the chemical compound, mineral and characteristic of volcanic rock that was found in the spring could influence the number and kinds of bacteria at the research locations also temperature, pH, vegetation, altitude.
