Research on "The effectiveness of the implementation of the accreditation of high schools: a study of the implementation and impact of school accreditation on improving the quality of high school in West Java". This study aims to determine the essence of school accreditation in the framework of the national education system, describing the extent of the effectiveness of the implementation of accredited high school in West Java Province, described the profile of high school accreditation in West Java, based on data from 2007, 2008 and 2009, and describes the accreditation impact on improving high school quality of education in West Java, and formulate strategies for the development of accredited high school in West Java. The research method used is a qualitative method with a naturalistic approach, the study subjects were Chairman of the Accreditation Board Provincial School / Madrasah (BAP-S / M), BAP secretary S / M, Member of BAP-S / M, Asessor, Chief of High Schools and teachers high school in West Java Province who have been determined based on sampling studies.The study's findings The essence of school accreditation in the framework of the national education system is an activity undertaken to determine the feasibility of programs and educational unit. Based on the research results can be concluded that the meaning of accreditation by the high schools in West Java are at a moderate level, this happens because of lack of understanding possessed by the Principal, teachers and other staff.
