This research was conducted in the context of developing values education through indepth study about educational phenomenon in an Islamic education institution, that is Pesantren. This research was aimed to formulate an integrative values education model, to be implemented in schools, especially Islamic schools (madrasah) in the context of character building. To attain the target, empirical data were collected groundedly through a case study in an Islamic boarding institution of education, Pesantren Al-Basyariyah, Bandung.
The techniques used to collect data were partisipant-observation, observation, interview and document analysis. In interpreting the data collected, the researcher used interpretative-hermeneutics approach of research.
